The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today confirmed its landslide victory in Faridabad Municipal Elections – local body polls – held this year. After Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chandigarh, this is the sixth decisive victory for BJP in a row. With demonetisation playing positive for BJP, which was also used as the main campaign planks, the BJP on Saturday recorded a landslide victory in the Faridabad Nagar Nigam polls, winning 30 seats in the 40-member civic body. BJP also marked its victory in Bhiwani Municipal Elections in which the party had won 22 seats out of 31.
After marking victory in Haryana’s Faridabad municipal polls, Captain Abhimanyu a senior state BJP leader tweeted, “After Chandigarh now, BJP turned victorious in Faridabad and Bhiwani shows that the decision of demonetisation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been warmly welcomed by the people”. Captain Abhimanyu also congratulated BJP party workers and public, by giving the credit of victory to Union Government’s decision on its policies and demonetisation.
In Faridabad, out of 30 seats that BJP won, the party was able to win 30 seats decisively. Senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya tweeted, “In Haryana’s local body election victory BJP won 30 seats out of 40 and in Bhiwani 22 seats out of 31.
Apart from BJP, on 10 ward seats in Faridabad independent candidate marked their victory while Congress was unable to open its account.
After the victory, Central State Minister Krishnapal Gurjar credited the victory to PM Narendra Modi and reportedly said, that, “Once again people of Faridabad had shown their confidence in PM Modi”.
The Faridabad Municipal Corporation (MFC) and Bhiwani Municipal Corporation (MCB) is the civic body responsible for the city of Faridabad in Haryana State. The MFC divides the state into 40 wards and was in the year 1993, while MCB is divided into 26 wards. In Haryana, the two district Bhiwani Nagar Parishad and Faridabad MC Elections were held on today.
