The involvement of Ram Mohan Rao, Tamil Nadu’s Chief secretary, in a major network of scam involving Political Big heavy weights seems to be getting out into the open day by day. After conducting raids at Sekhar Reddy’s residence, SRS Sand Mining Kingpin, the Income Tax department had suspected links between him and TN Chief Secretary.

Post this, Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary’s residence, his office, his son Vivek Rao, his relatives and various other links had been raided by the Income Tax Department. An interrogation of Ram Mohan Rao had established this dubious link using an audio clip of the telephonic conversation between the two. It was suspected by IT investigators that their conversation was full of coded words and they have been trying to decode the same.

Two days after the Income Tax investigation wing raided the house and offices of Rama Mohana Rao, his son P Vivek, and relatives and associates, the officials of the wing summoned Vivek to their office for inquiries. I-T officials said Vivek came to their office in the morning to answer questions.

The main allegation against Vivek is that he is involved in money laundering. There are also allegations that Vivek had business dealings with sand mining baron Shekar Reddy and his associates. “We are probing his relationship with Reddy from whom we have seized a huge amount of cash and gold,” the official said.

This weekend has been buzzing with activity in the Income Tax Department in Nungambakkam, there has been two big meetings amongst 150 IT Officials within a span of two days. Around 60 IT officials have been flown in from Hyderabad and several battalions of CRPF have been mobilized in Chennai. The lack of cooperation  from TN Police during raids at Ram Mohan Rao’s house have prompted this action from IT Department.

Reports have been going around the developments happening at Poes Garden, residence of Ex-CM J Jayalalithaa and her close confidante Sasikala Natarajan.
