Cho Ramaswamy’s Demise, Did The Pupil Take the Master Along With Her?
Cho Ramaswamy aka Srinivasa Iyer Ramaswamy was a man of extraordinary talents. He redefined the meaning of SATIRE in Tamil Films, NO… NO… the entire Indian Film Industry. A talented Actor, An Advocate, An Author, A Spiritual Guide, A Political Analyst, A Political Mentor, Editor of Thuglak; one can go on and on about the accolades that he had received in his career.
One of the well known fact all across Tamil Nadu was the relationship shared between Cho Ramaswamy and J Jayalalithaa. Their relationship extended well beyond one of Mentor-Protege relationship, it was more like a Father-Daughter relationship. Some of Jayalalithaa’s greatest accomplishment as a Politician came on the advice of Cho.
In fact there were only two people in the whole world to whom Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa would bow her head down to. One is Cine Actor M N Nambir and the other Cho Ramaswamy.
Cho’s biggest political mentor-ship to J Jayalalithaa was introducing her to our current PM Narendra Modi. He was the architect of an everlasting friendship between these two towering figures. In 2011 when J Jayalalithaa came back to power as the CM of Tamil Nadu, it was Cho’s master stroke which enabled her an alliance with DMDK’s (Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam) party leader Vijayakanth.
It was during this election in 2011 that AIADMK and DMDK together decimated the then ruling party DMK led by M Karunanidhi.
Cho Ramasamy had been hospitalized in Apollo Hospital on November 29th 2016, the same place where J Jayalalithaa had been admitted weeks earlier. Cho, infact, had been in the dark about the health condition of his protege J Jayalalithaa till then.
Although the health of Cho had been deteriorating for many months, he was probably not sick enough to get a heart attack. The demise of Cho Ramaswamy although must not have come as a shock to many, but the real reason behind it will.
Popular Media Houses keep re-iterating that Cho did not know about J Jaylalithaa’s death, but this claim is false. Reliable sources tell us that Cho Ramaswamy who had access to TV in Apollo Hospitals, happened to view news about the death of Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa. They go on to tell us that Cho had been very disturbed after hearing this and had been suffering internally, weeping for the demise of J Jayalalithaa.
This was probably one of the major reasons which could have caused a Heart Attack to Cho Ramaswamy.
In an ideal world, it is the master who leaves first followed by the student. But this time the student had to go first taking the master along with her, one day later.
