DMK leader and former Tamil Nadu CM M Karunanidhi, 92, was admitted to to a hospital here late on Thursday night. Sources said that the five-time chief minister was hospitalised considering suggestions of his personal physicians. This is the second time in three weeks that the DMK patriarch has been hospitalised. He was first admitted to a hospital following an allergy developed to his usual medicines.
Karunanidhi is admitted with breathing difficulty due to throat and lung infection, a health bulletin issued by Kauvery Hospital in the city said. “The treatment has been initiated to clear his infection,” said the bulletin. “He is stable and is being treated by a team of doctors,” it said. “He is unwell and considering his age, he remains stable,” said a DMK party leader.
