Guwahati bound Capital Express train got derailed at Alipurduar district of West Bengal on Tuesday.
Preliminary reports suggest three people have suffered injuries and several are trapped inside. Around 9.15pm, the engine and two coaches of the UP-Capital Express train derailed near the Samuktala Road station at Alipurduar district. The derailment took place when the train was Guwahati bound from Bihar’s Danapur.
Meanwhile, the Alipurduar DRM Sanjiv Kishore and other district police officials have rushed to the spot. A rescue operation has begun and officials are trying to pull out all those trapped inside. On the other hand, several trains have been stalled across stations of Bengal.
