New Delhi, Dec 2 (PTI) Taking cognizance of news reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sanctioned Rs 3 lakh from PM National Relief Fund for treatment of social activist Doris Francis who is suffering from cancer and is admitted to AIIMS.
The PMO said the sanction was granted after it took cognizance of a news regarding services rendered by Francis and her sickness due to cancer.
“Doris Francis is undergoing treatment at AIIMS, New Delhi. The hospital authorities have been requested to provide utmost care to the patient,” the PMO said in a statement.
Hospital as well as the family members of Francis have been apprised about the sanction of the grant, it said.
Francis, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district on the outskirts of Delhi, is well known for rendering voluntary services to manage traffic at a busy intersection on a National Highway.
