A 14-year-old boy was murdered in a school in the walled city on Friday morning. The student’s body was found in a pool of blood in the washroom of Shri Bharti School in Baranpura at about 11.30 am. The police said that two of the victim’s schoolmates are in the list of suspects.
According to the cops, the victim was a student of 9th standard and had joined the school just few days ago. “The secondary session of the school starts at 12 in noon. When some secondary standard students went to the washroom on the first floor at about 11.30 am, they found the boy lying in the pool of blood. The students raised alarm following which our staff rushed to washroom. We called up the emergency services and police,” said Surendra Singh, principal of Shri Bharti School.

“The police recovered sharp-edged weapons and a bottle of water containing chili powder from a school bag, which was found lying near a temple adjoining the school,” the DCP said. The police suspect the assailants threw it after killing the teen.
“Probe is underway in the incident,” said the school authorities in a statement.
“We have learnt about an altercation and a minor fight between two students on Thursday. That incident was probably the motivation for the murder but we are ascertaining all facts,” a local police official said, adding that they were looking at the CCTV footage and other security arrangements on the school premises.
After preliminary investigations, the police said they suspect a fight between two students led to the murder.
“Two students had a fight, in which one of the students died. The reason of the incident has not been ascertained as of now,” Mr Bhagora told. Investigations are underway and the police are also checking security arrangements of the school, he added.
According to the police, prima facie it looks like the boy was stabbed by a student of Class X. An official who reached to the spot, said the body of the 14-year-old was found in the first-floor toilet near the tenth standard classroom.
The incident took place around 12 noon, between the two shifts of the school, they added.
Vadodara DCP RS Bhagora said that two students had a fight in which one of them died. Tadvi had 10 stab wounds on his body, he added. “Reason of the incident has not been ascertained as of now. We’re checking security arrangements of the school. Further investigation is underway,” he said.
The police have launched a probe and are looking for the senior, who is absconding.
The victim had joined the school only recently. His parents live in the neighbouring Anand district while he stayed with his aunt in the city.
