141 Terrorists killed in J&K in 2016 vs 67, 65 in previous years

31st Dec: Former Army Supremo General Dalbir Singh inspected guard of honour on his last day as Army Chief. General Bipin Rawat is scheduled to take over as the next Army Chief today itself.

Speaking on the occasion General Dalbir Singh Suhag said “I salute our martyrs who made supreme sacrifices in upholding honour of the nation.” He also added “Express my gratitude to PM and Govt for their full support and giving free hand in conduct of operations.”

General Dalbir Singh also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementation of One Rank One Pension after nearly 4 decades of wait.

“The day I took over I had said that our response to any action will be more than adequate, immediate, intense. Indian Army delivered that in the last 2 and a half years. Indian Army is fully prepared and well trained to tackle any challenges be it external or internal.” he added as the veteran retires after 43 years of service.

“I strongly believe that actions must speak louder than words. In 2012, we had killed 67 terrorists, 65 in 2013 & killed 141 terrorists alone in J&K this year” said General Dalbir Singh on his last day as the Army Chief.
