Delhi: A 21 year old Delhi woman named Kirti was stabbed to death on Friday evening by by 25-year-old Mohammad Munasir. The man, stabbed kirti multiple times before trying to flee the spot when he got nabbed by the locals who handed him over to the police. Kirti meanwhile succumbed to injuries at AIIMS.
What transpired between them before the attack is yet to be ascertained, but the officer said that the probe so far has indicated that there was a brief argument between them. “What we know for sure is that the man repeatedly attacked her with a knife,” said the DCP. The incident took place at 7 p.m, when the victim, a domestic help, was heading home from Bhogal.

The DCP said both of them were unmarried and lived in the same neighbourhood of Sarai Kale Khan. “They were known to each other. We are trying to ascertain their relationship. The woman’s brother, an auto driver, has told us that he wasn’t aware that the duo knew each other,” said the DCP.
The woman stayed with her brother, who was also questioned in connection with the case. However, he said he has no knowledge about any relationship between the duo, the police added. Kirti worked as a domestic help and nanny in Bhogal, said the officer. “The woman had left her workplace and was walking in the market around 7pm when the man armed with a knife approached her,” said the DCP.
The victim’s parents live in Tughlakabad Extension.
“A murder case has been registered at Hazarat Nizamuddin police station and the accused has been arrested,” said deputy commissioner of police, Mr. Biswal.
