After Bloombsburey row, two books revealing ‘truth’ of Delhi riots hitting stands soon

Widespread riots rocked parts of the national capital earlier this year on the wake of American President Donald Trump’s visit to India. What started as protests, sittings and even occasional skirmishes by anti Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protestors a month before it or so, snowballed into a full-fledged riot by the morning of Monday, 24th February.

For next two days, a mob went on a frenzy, targeting local Hindus and their settlements. From killings, to rapes to destruction of temples, the nation witnessed everything in broad daylight, that too in the heart of the national capital itself. And yet, a major section of national and international media kept blaming the victims. Going against every fact on the ground, they kept insisting that the Hindus were rioting. No stone was left unturned in making the sufferers appear like the perpetrators.

For more than 48 hours, the nation witnessed
worst form of violence and most vulgar form of victim blaming, simultaneously. It would not be wrong to say, professional propagandists under the garb of journalists would have squarely succeeded in establishing the killed as the killer, had one much interesting individual by the name of Taheeer Hussain not surfaced. Which from there, then turned the tide completely.

Since then much has been learnt about the vicious conspiracy which was at play behind the Delhi riots. Very recently, the abovementioned gentleman, Mr. Taheer Hussain, a corporator of the Aam Aadmi Party, admitted his role as a ‘mastermind’ in the riots during interrogation by police. He also revealed that the riots were planned in Delhi based office of Islamic outfit Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and that left activist Umar Khalid was one of the co conspirators with him.

And yet, despite all these revelations which emerged in months following the riots, there are still many important things which are unknown to the people. There are many aspects of the henious conspiracy about which most of the people are still in dark. But now, to disclose the ugly truth of the Delhi riots, two books are all set to hit the stands.

Very soon, a Delhi based publishing house named Prabhat Prakashan is set to come up with a book christened, ‘Delhi Riots: Conspiracy unravelled’ Edited by journalists Aditya Bhardwaj and Ashish Kumar, the book primarily draws on the findings of a six-member panel of a Delhi-based trust, Call for Justice.

Going by the words of the owner of Prabhat Prakashan, Mr. Prabhat Kumar himself, the readers can expect “truth, the truth which was not allowed to come out.”

“People will realize how it was a sponsored violence,” he added while talking exclusively to SatyaVijayi.

However, just as there was a concentrated effort by propagandists to suppress the facts of the riots at the time it was transpiring in the lanes and by-lanes of North East Delhi, similarly there have been much efforts to stop the books on the subject from reaching to people.

Another book on the same subject, ‘Delhi riots 2020: The untold story’ was slated for launch on 22nd of August. But the publisher, Bloomsbury India, pulled out of the venture at the last moment, after it found itself under ‘pressure’ by those who perhaps don’t want the truth to come out. Nonetheless, Garuda Prakashan, another well known publishing house has taken over the book, and it will be made available in bookstores across the country soon.

When asked on whether he also faced any similar pressure, Prabhat Kumar said, “what kind of pressure? We are living in a democracy, who can pressurize? I would rather blame the publisher, didn’t he know the content? Then why did he back out? You accepted a book and then you backed out, it shows your integrity.”

‘Delhi riots: Conspiracy unravelled’ in English and Hindi by Prabhat Prakashan is set to be released on the first week of September. Whereas ‘Delhi riots 2020: The untold story’ which after Bloomsbury’s withdrawal is now under the banner of Garuda Prakashan will also hit the stores in around the same time. With two books revealing the dark secrets of Delhi riots set for launch at around same time, it could very well prove to be the last nail in the coffin of all the propaganda which had shrouded the “truth.”
