BJP on Monday lashed out at Congress President Rahul Gandhi for allegedly referring to Jaish-e-mohammed supremo Maulana Masood Azhar with respect by adding “Ji” with his name. In a viral video, Rahul is heard calling the JeM chief as “Masood Azhar Ji.”
Union minister Smriti Irani took a dig at Rahul Gandhi and said that the common thing between him and Pakistan is their “love for terrorists.”
Sharing a six-second video of Rahul Gandhi on Twitter, she said: “Please note Rahul ji’s reverence for terrorist Masood Azhar – a testimony to Rahul loves terrorists.”
What is common between Rahul Gandhi and Pakistan?

Targeting the Congress chief, BJP leader and Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “Come on Rahul Gandhi Ji! Earlier it was the likes of Digvijay Ji who called Osama Ji and Hafiz Saeed Sahab. Now you are saying ‘Masood Azhar Ji’. What is happening to Congress Party?”
The Congress president was addressing party’s booth workers in Delhi, a day after the Lok Sabha elections were announced.
Rahul Gandhi said 40 CRPF personnel were killed in the Pulwama terror attack carried out by the Jaish-e-Mohammed whose chief Masood Azhar was released from jail by the then BJP government.
This is not the first time when Congress leaders have been accused of addressing terrorists with respect. Previously, seasoned leader and Rahul Gandhi’s political mentor, Digvijaya Singh had on camera referred to Osama Bin Laden as “Osama Ji” and 26/11 mastermind Hafeez Saeed as “Hafeez Saab.”
