After ‘Hindu Pakistan’, Tharoor now comes up with ‘Hindu Taliban’

A week after the controversial ‘Hindu Pakistan’ statement, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has once again sparked controversy with his latest ‘Hindu taliban’ comment. Tharoor alleged that offensive slogans, “asking to go to Pakistan,” were hurled at him by BJP supporters.

The Parliamentarian hit out at the incumbent government at center, questioning whether they have started a ‘taliban’ within Hinduism.

“They are asking me to go to Pakistan. Who has given them the right to decide that I am not a Hindu like them and I don’t have the right to stay in the country? Have they started a Taliban in Hinduism?” Shashi Tharoor said while addressing a public gathering here on Tuesday.

This came a day after Shashi Tharoor alleged youth BJP workers of vandalizing his office on Monday.

Meanwhile Sambit Patra of the BJP, slammed Shashi Tharoor for his comments and said that it reflects pathological hatred of the Congress for Hindus.

“After ‘Hindu-Pakistan’ jibe Mr Tharoor furthering His attack on the Hindus comes up with a new term ‘Hindu-Taliban’
From Hindu-Atankwadi to Hindu-Taliban ..this only reflects the pathological hatred of the Congress for the Hindus! याद आया “हाँ,कांग्रेस मुसलमानों की पार्टी है,” Sambit Patra tweeted.

In the last line of the tweet which is written in Hindi, Patra says, ” I remember yes, Congress is Muslim’s party.” It was a dig at Congress President, Rahul Gandhi’s alleged claim that ‘Congress is a party of Muslims’, which he reportedly made during a meeting with Muslim intellectuals.

Last week, addressing an event in Thiruvananthapuram, Tharoor had said, “If they (BJP) win a repeat in the Lok Sabha our democratic constitution as we understand it will not survive as they will have all the elements they need to tear apart the constitution of India and write a new one. That new one will be the one which will enshrine principles of Hindu Rashtra, that will remove equality for minorities, that’ll create a Hindu Pakistan.”
