With hostilities with Pakistan escalating in borders, the nation is witnessing a wave of patriotism. This patriotic wave was apparent with the unparallel success of URI: The Surgical Strikes, a movie based on the counter-terrorism operation of Indian army against Pakistan based terrorists last year. And now, if various reports are to be believed then Film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is also planning to tap into the patriotic wave with his latest offering.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is reportedly planning to make a movie on Indian Airforce’s strikes on Jaish-e-mohammed training camps in Pakistan’s Balakot. If a report in a leading daily is to be believed, the same will be co-produced by SLB, Bhushan Kumar and Mahaveer Jain.
The untitled project will be helmed by Abhishek Kapoor, whose last film Kedarnath starred Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead. It’s also said that casting for the same is currently in process and various A-listers have shown their interest to star in this Bhansali film.
This could also be seen as Bhansali’s attempt to rebuild his image among the country’s right-wing, which deterioted after his last work, Padmaavat. The film will be a tribute to the armed forces.
