Mutilated body of a three year old girl with several injuries on her body including private parts was found in a garbage pile on Sunday in Aligarh’s Tappal area. According to police, the girl had gone missing a couple of days ago and her parents had filed an abduction complaint on May 31. On Sunday morning, Tinkle’s body was discovered by a garbage collector, who alerted locals.
The grandfather of the girl, Kanhiya Sharma has alleged that his neighbour Mohammad Jahed had threatened him with dire consequences after he asked him to repay Rs 10K, which the latter had borrowed for his father’s treatment. Sharma believes that the threat could have something to do with the incident.
The girl’s father Banwari Lal Sharma works as a labourer while her mother is a homemaker. As the news spread in the area, local residents blocked traffic on Tappal-Palwal road by placing the girl’s body on the road and demanded immediate action against the accused. Police immediately reached the spot and pacified the crowd. The girl’s family members alleged if police had acted on time, their daughter’s life would have been saved. SHO of Tappal police station KP Singh has been sent to police station over his inability to check the crime.
The post mortem report of the deceased was inconclusive as the body was badly disintegrated, said SP (rural) Manilal Patidar. He said the girl’s vaginal swab will be tested to determine the exact cause of death.
Patidar said all possible angles were being investigated in the case. He told TOI that a case had been registered against Jahed under section 363 (kidnapping) on May 31. Section 302 (murder) was added to it on Sunday after the girl’s body was found.
