Bollywood actress and producer Anushka Sharma is an angry woman at the moment, and rightly so. The 28-year-old star who is all set to release the second movie of her home production, titled Phillauri, feels her dignity and respect for her hard work has been snatched away by the media.
All this, just because she is a woman, she thinks. Well, for the uninitiated, Anushka Sharma is mighty pissed with media reports on February 10 claiming her film Phillauri has been co-produced by her cricketer boyfriend, India captain Virat Kohli.
Ever since the trailer of Phillauri released starring Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh and Suraj Sharma, there have been talks of Virat having invested money in the film being produced by the actress.
Obviously, this has not gone down well with the self-respecting and self-made Anushka Sharma. She took to Instagram to slam the media of what she calls unethical reporting without verifying the sources.
Writing an open letter to Indian entertainment journalists, Anushka Sharma has asked them to ‘Have Some Shame’! The actress has also spoken about women empowerment and how she is quite capable of producing her own films without ANYONE’s help. Take a look at the letter!
After the humongous success of her first production NH10, Phillauri is the second film from Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Sharma’s production house Clean Slate Films. The trailer of Phillauri released on February 5, 2017, and quickly became the talk of the town. The actress who is playing the lead is seen a different avatar – a friendly ghost bride!
Everyone is praising Anushka Sharma and the fresh concept that she is presenting to movie buffs with Phillauri.
Amidst all the appreciation and congratulations over the Phillauri trailer, a shocking round of reports started floating in the media. There were claims of Team India skipper Virat Kohli, who is the richest Indian sportsperson and Anushka’s boyfriend, being the actual producer of Phillauri. This startling piece of information left the actress fuming and we do not blame her for the kind of reaction she has given.
Anushka Sharma took to Instagram where she posted a letter directed at the media for circulating baseless rumours in form of news. She hit out at these journalists for forming news based on ‘unidentified sources’. The Sultan actress did not hold back in asking all the rightful questions. We all know Anushka to be one of the stars who does not come out in the open and clarify speculations about her personal or professional life.
But on this occasion, she chose not to keep silent. In as many words, Anushka Sharma said that Phillauri is produced by Fox Star Hindi and her banner Clean Slate Films. She asked the media to ‘have some shame’, which should send out a clear message about her level of anger. She said the media should practice ‘responsible journalism’ and lambasted the ‘source’-based reports by calling them‘bogus claims’ and ‘rubbish’. Anushka made it clear in her lengthy post that she felt ‘disrespected’ by these reports targeting her self-respect and credibility as an actor-producer.
