Aam Aadmi Party party leader and President of its Punjab unit, Bhagwant Mann on Thursday reportedly proposed of dissolving his party if needed to put up a fight against Narendra Modi led BJP. “If need be, we are even ready to dissolve our party. After all, we all came from various fields, including theatre and journalism. We all formed Aam Aadmi Party for course correction in Indian politics,” said AAP Punjab President Bhagawat Mann.
Mann’s statement was in response to a question asked by a student during interaction session at a program orgnised by a news portal. Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali President and Former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Sukhbir Singh Badal has reacted strongly, while stating that masks of Aam Aadmi Party were finally off and accused Mann of spreading hatred himself.
The Aam Aadmi Party which is led by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had been desperately trying to force an alliance with the Congress party at Northern states of Delhi, Haryana and Punjab. However, to much disappointing the AAP leaders and supporters, Congress did not agree for an alliance in either of the states. Ironically AAP was born out of an anti-Congress movement.
AAP think tank probably feels that there has been a disillusionment among the people regarding the party over past few years. In 2014, AAP had failed to register even a single victory in seven Loksabha seats of Delhi. This year the party’s situation is even worse, feel the experts.
