BJP MLC Bukkal Nawab ‘Expelled’ from Islam for Visiting Lord Hanuman’s Temple

A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC minister has been expelled by an Islamic organization for visiting Hindu temple in Lucknow city of Uttar Pradesh. Minister Bukkal Nawab on Tuesday paid obeisance to Lord Hanuman.

According to reports, Maulana Saalim Ashraf Qasmi, the head of the madrasa Darul Uloom Asharfia said that Uttar Pradesh BJP MLC Bukkal Nawab has been ostracized from Islam and the Muslim community for offering prayers to ‘a Hindu God’.

Nawab will be welcomed back only if he purifies himself by offering an apology to Allah and reading the Kalma thrice, he further said.

Bukkal Nawab, former Samajwadi Party MP who had joined the BJP last year, had offered prayers and gifted a heavy brass-made bell at famous Hanuman temple in Hazratganj on Tuesday after he was nominated by the BJP to the Upper House.

Reacting on this, Nawab said that he and his family is devout of Lord Hanuman and our constitution allow us to practice any religion.
