The probe into the drug cartel in Bollywood is widening with every passing day. Now several industry heavyweights are under the scanner of Narcotics Control Bureau (NBC) for allegedly consuming drugs and being in contact with the dealers. The biggest of these names thus far is that of leading actress Deepika Padukone, whose chats have reportedly revealed about her drug addiction.
The investigators recently accessed chats between some “D” and “K”, in which the former could be seen asking the latter to bring drugs. To which, “K” replies that she has it, but at home. Further ‘K’ says that she can ask ‘Amit’ if she wants it, as “he is carrying”. Deepika also then clarifies that she needs “Hash” and not “weed” as the two discuss logistics.
It has been learnt from various quarters that the “D” here stands for Deepika Padukone and the “K” for her manager, Karishma Prakash. The NCB is now preparing itself to summon both the actress and her manager for interrogation.
Apart from Deepika, another big name that has emerged during the probe is that of Shraddha Kapoor. The agency also has actresses Sara Ali Khan under its scanner. Both Sara and Shraddha could be summoned this week.
Sources say the Narcotics Control Bureau may put out summons to these actresses later this week in connection with a case based on alleged WhatsApp messages retrieved from Rhea Chakraborty’s mobile phone.
Some reports also suggested the name of actress Dia Mirza to be linked with the case. However, the actress has categorically denied the allegations and maintained that she has no links with the ongoing probe.
Taking to her official social media handles, the actress denied all reports against her and deemed them as “false, baseless and with mala fide intentions.” In her post, Dia said, “I would like to strongly refute and categorically deny this news as being false, baseless and with mala fide intentions.”
With big names up in the air, it is needless to say that the Bollywood drug cartel investigation is sure to cause more furore within the industry in coming days. The Narcotics Control Bureau is out to bust the alleged drug racket operating within the Bollywood with all its might. Will even bigger names emerge as the investigation progresses? Will we see arrests of more Bollywood stars after Rhea? Perhaps only the time would be able to answer these questions.
