After much deliberation, Congress party has finally come forward to officially welcome the move of the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya. Congress issued a statement on Friday supporting construction of the Ram temple.
Party spokesman Jaiveer Shergill said, “Indian National Congress whole-heartedly welcomed and welcomes the judgment of the Supreme Court paving the path for construction of the Ram mandir.” To a query, he said, “The decision regarding the participants, the methodology, the infrastructure, solely rests with the trust and the concerned individuals who have been invited to participate on this holy occasion.”
Earlier senior Congress member Kamal Nath said, “I welcome the construction of the Ram temple. Countrymen had expected and longed for this. The construction of Ram temple is being done with the consent of every Indian.”
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh state BJP spokesperson Rajneesh Agrawal however, has dubbed Nath’s welcoming move as a “poll gimmick” to reach out to the Hindu voters ahead of the crucial 27 assembly by-polls in Madhya Pradesh.
