Days after Sri Lanka blasts, ISIS poster in Bengali language surfaces

A poster saying “coming soon… Inshallah” in Bengali language has been released by a pro Islamic state (ISIS) telegram channel. The poster, people believe, could be indicating a possible attack in either West Bengal or Bangladesh.

Released on Thursday night, the poster reads “Shighroi Aschhe [coming soon], Inshallah…”. The poster also features the logo of a group called Al-Mursalat, according to the Times of India.

Islamic State already has a strong hold in Bangladesh with a section of local terrorist organisation named Jamatul Mujahideen (New-JMB) which is affiliated to ISIS Central.
It is a cause for concern as JMB operatives have been known to recruit and establish hideouts in Kolkata and others parts of West Bengal and neighbouring states.

Three years ago, local JMB sleeper cells had put up posters in several districts of West Bengal asking the youth to join the terrorist organisation.

The existence and circulation of the Bengali poster is being taken seriously as the IS recently carried out over eight deadly serial blasts in Sri Lanka through local outfit Tawheed Jamaat.
Days after the serial blasts in Sri Lanka, Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack in which over 300 people were killed, and hundreds more injured.

The blasts targeted churches and hotels, and foreign nationals, including 11 Indians, were among the dead.
