Disappointed with exit poll results, AAP’s Sanjay Singh says entire election should be canceled if there is a single mis-match between EVM and VVPAT

With just a couple of days to go before the all awaited results of 2019 Lok Sabha electionsl, exit polls conducted by various agencies and channels were released on Sunday evening. All the exit polls unanimously predicted that the BJP led NDA alliance will be coming back to power.

Some predicted that the NDA will sweep away the elections by crossing 300 mark, leaving the majority mark of 272 way behind. Others suggested that the alliance will get pass the majority mark but will remain short of 300. While some also suggested that the alliance will stop narrowly short of the majority mark, even in which case it won’t be a major task for them to form government.

Exit polls are exit polls, they should never be taken too seriously as in many cases these have been proven wildly incorrect. However, some opposition political parties in India seem to have forgotten this rule. They not only are taking it way too seriously but have already started making demands on the basis of exit polls.

“Is EVM the real game? Were these exit polls conducted after taking money? How is this possible that in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, and West Bengal, everywhere, BJP is predicted to win? Every Opposition party should demand cancellation of Lok Sabha Election if there’s any mismatch in VVPAT and EVM vote count,” AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh tweeted.

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has termed the exit polls as “gossip”, urging opposition parties to be united, strong, and bold. “I don’t trust Exit Poll gossip. The game plan is to manipulate or replace thousands of EVMs through this gossip. I appeal to all Opposition parties to be united, strong and bold. We will fight this battle together,” Mayawati had tweeted.
