Fact Checker: Pakistani Media showing old footages to peddle fake news about shooting down two IAF jets

After facing humiliation twice within 36 hours, Pakistani Army and media have resorted to fake propaganda, to save their face before the countrymen. At 11:49AM, the spokesperson for Pakistan Army, Major General Asif Ghafoor claimed on twitter that Pakistani Airforce shot down two Indian jets this morning.

“In response to PAF strikes this morning as released by MoFA, IAF crossed LOC. PAF shot down two Indian aircrafts inside Pakistani airspace. One of the aircraft fell inside AJ&K while other fell inside IOK. One Indian pilot arrested by troops on ground while two in the area,” he said.

Soon-after, Pakistani media started running stories of Pakistan Airforce shooting down two Indian jets. But after a little research on the matter, all the claims by Pakistani side seems to nothing more than an out and out farce.

First of all, there have been only two crashes on the side of Jammu and Kashmir which is under Indian control, since this morning. The first crash was of a transport chopper of the IAF, which fell down near Budgam due to technical glitches. The second crash was of a Pakistani F16, which was shot down by IAF at Nowshera. Hence the Pakistani claim of shooting down IAF jets on Indian side of the LoC, appears to be nothing more than a white lie.

The Pakistani media is also similarly engaging in lie peddling. Various media outlets from Pakistan are showing old footages of Indian aircraft accidents that took place in 2016 and 2018, to prove that their airforce shot down two jets. What’s more hilarious, is that Pakistani media is presenting these old footages which are easily available on Internet as “exclusive.”

The picture that Pakistan’s liar media is claiming to be an exclusive footage of the Indian jet that has been allegedly shot down

in reality, the picture is of an Indian jet that crashed way back in 2016 at Jodhpur due to technical reasons.

Pakistan was humiliated twice in last 36 hours. First, Indian Airforce successfully conducted strikes on Jaish-e-mohammed training camps in Pakistani mainland and their security forces couldn’t do anything to stop it. Then, when this morning, they attempted to intrude inside Indian Airspace, one of their F16 fighter jets got shot down by IAF.
