Former J&K CM Farooq Abdullah sides with Shahid Afridi on situation in state

A cursory look at Farooq Abdullah’s career would suggest that controversies and he cannot be separated for long. Stoking up yet another controversy in his usual pro-Pakistan line, the former Jammu and Kashmir backed cricketer Shahid Afridi who recently tweeted that the terrorists neutralised by security forces in the Kashmir valley are innocent Kashmiris.

Further, Farooq Abdullah emphasised that it was necessary to talk to Pakistan in Kashmir and India’s interest. Both he and Afridi were trolled to what many called were speaking in a tone that pandered to separatists.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Pakistan on Sunday (April 1) had issued a statement stating that it condemned the brutal and indiscriminate use of force by India’s security forces, which had resulted in the loss of at least eleven young innocent Kashmiris in incidents at Anantnag and Shopian. The unprecedented crackdown by the Indian security forces also led to Pakistan launching a full-blown counter offensive action against the terrorists. The statement revealed that by attacking innocent Kashmiris, the security forces had exposed their violent mindset.

Former Pakistan cricket captain, Shahid Afridi on Tuesday, took to Twitter and launched a massive tirade against India. He had tweeted: “Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian occupied Kashmir. Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp down of self-determination and independence. Wonder where is the @UN and other int bodies & why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?” (sic)

On Sunday, 11 terrorists, including top “commanders” were killed while one ultra surrendered in three separate encounters in South Kashmir which was a huge success for the Security Forces.
