Gauri Lankesh, editor of weekly Kannada tabloid magazine Lankesh Patrike, was shot dead outside her Bengaluru residence on September 5th 2017. Gauri Lankesh was a regular columnist in many newspapers, a panelist on TV channels and was an alleged naxal sympathizer. Gauri Lankesh was one such person, who could be branded as an abusive critic of Right Wing organizations like RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) and other Hindutva Groups.
The Congress Party and other so called secular sections of the Indian society, took this opportunity to target Hindu groups, specifically Right Wing groups for her murder. This witch hunt started much before the investigation had begun and without an iota of evidence to support their claims.
Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi went ahead to say that he has proof about RSS’s involvement in the murder of Gauri Lankesh. Criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Government, he added, anybody who speaks against the ideology of the BJP-RSS is “pressured, beaten, attacked and even killed”. Further he targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the PM was a “skilled Hindutva politician”.
The primary SIT investigation had revealed that there was a strong Naxal link for the Gauri Lankesh murder. Even her brother had earlier pointed a suspicion towards them. As per a report from Survarna News, “The SIT is investigating the possibility of Vikram Gowda, who is said to be ‘most wanted’ and absconding in the forests around Chikamagaluru, having come to Bengaluru himself and killed Lankesh. According to police records, CCTV footage show the assailant’s height as being around 5.2 to 5.4 feet. But there is difference of opinion within the SIT in this regard as a section of the officers debate the possibility of Gowda having executed the task himself”
Recently, The Indian Express reported a story, stating Sanatan Sanstha members are the key suspects involved in the Gauri Lankesh Murder case.
Several other Media Houses and websites blindly followed this report from the Indian Express and re-published the same, probably without any actual verification. TheWire, The Hindu, Newslaundry, FirstPost and Deccan Chronicle were some of the main players who jumped in this bandwagon.
The trend #SanatanOnRadar hosted on Twitter gained popularity at the National level. The self proclaimed fake news buster, Pratik Sinha (Co-founder of AltNews), had also joined the secular gang to try and provide some ammo in linking Sanatan Sanstha to Gauri Lankesh’s murder.
Unfortunately for him and other Media Houses, B K Singh (SIT Police), had clearly mentioned in a press conference today that the alleged involvement of Sanatan Sanstha in the Gauri Lankesh’s murder is a complete Media driven story. There is no such information available with the SIT as of now.

Finally, it seem to be a propaganda by specific media outlets and private members to falsely claim and re-coin the word “Hindu Terror”. The Pseudo Secular gang happily took this opportunity to spread its fake news agenda.

So the biggest question which emerges here is that; Is this another propaganda mechanism to set in place a context before the much hyped Karnataka Elections? What was the need of trying to revive terms like Hindutva Terror or Hindu Terror? How can Media outlets and private citizens accuse an organization without any sort of evidence? Why do they spread such fake news?

Now that Sanatan Sanstha has come out with a plan to file cases against the Indian Express, we request them to take similar actions above all the outlets and members mentioned above.
