Gautam Gambhir blasts Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi Marlena over allegations of circulating obscene pamphlets, sends defamation notice

Delhi on Thursday witnessed high voltage political drama when East Delhi candidate of Aam Aadmi Party, Atishi Marlena came out to level serious allegations against her opponent Gautam Gambhir and his party BJP. She accused Gambhir of distributing obscene pamphlets about her and Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia.

The pamphlet which the AAP claims is being circulated by BJP, makes wild claims. It is full of abusive, casteist and misogynist comments. During the press conference, Marlena even broke down.

However, within hours, Gautam Gambhir came out to vehemently dismiss the allegations. He accused Kejriwal of being behind the idea of the pamphlet and slammed him for outraging the modesty of a woman, all trying to win elections.

He also challenged both Kejriwal and Marlena to prove the allegations. If proven, he vowed to quit politics and if not he asked whether both of them would do the same.

In a series of tweets Gambhir hit out at AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal. “I abhor your act of outraging a woman’s modesty
@ArvindKejriwal and that too your own colleague. And all this for winning elections? U r filth Mr CM and someone needs ur very own झाड़ू to clean ur dirty mind,” he said.

Gambhir also promised of sending defamation notice to Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi Marlena, which he served later in the night. In the defamation notice Gambhir categorically and vehemently denied the allegations and claimed that they have been levelled to “demoralise and adversely affect” his election campaign.
