Making a mockery out of the Lockdown, former Karnataka Chief Minister and JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy got his son married with much glamor and luxury. Former Prime Minister HD Devegowda was also present in the wedding of his grandson, as a witness to the open violation to the rules.
In a luxurious wedding at a farm house Ramanagara, Nikhil Kumaraswamy’s wedding was conducted. The media was banned from entering the Ramanagara district while around 30-40 cars were seen headed towards the location from Bengaluru. When asked, police officials said the family had provided them with the registration numbers of the cars that had to be allowed.
Earlier responding to a question about the wedding being organised during the lockdown, Kumaraswamy had said that all prior permission has been taken from the Karnataka government.
Any such mass movement and public gatherings, weddings that are attended by a large number of people have been banned by the government due to the lockdown and over the fear of the deadly coronavirus spreading.

The BS Yediyurappa government had also said that it will keep a close watch on the wedding that will also be videographed. Karnataka Deputy CM CN Ashwath Naraya said that the state government will ask the concerned authorities to film the entire wedding event. Government officials had said, “If social distancing norms are not followed, action will be taken.
