Hindu Mahasabha break away faction celebrates Gandhi assassination, shoots at effigy

In a bizzare incident, Pooja Shakun Pandey, the general secretary of Hindu Mahasabha on Wednesday shot bullets at an effigy of Mahatma Gandhi. The scenes were part of the Hindu Mahasabha’s celebrations on Gandhi’s death anniversary.

Nathuram Godse, the man who assassinated Gandhi, was allegedly associated with the original Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha. Various fringe groups that claim to be successors of the original party, celebrate the day of Gandhi’s assassination as “shaurya divas (valour day).”

After Pandey shot at the Gandhi, ‘blood’ was seen oozing out of the effigy. According to reports, Pandey also distributed sweets among her supporters and fellow Mahasabha members.

Meanwhile, a hacker group named, Kerala cyber warriors, have hacked the official website of the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, as an act of revenge.

“GANDHI JI, ALWAYS REMAINED AN INSPIRATION FOR PEOPLE GLOBALLY TO FOLLOW RIGHT PATH, THE PATH OF NONVIOLENCE IN ALL THEIR ACTIONS,” says the hacked home page of Hindu Mahasabha. While equating the fringe group leader Pooja Shakun Pandey with “hippopotamus,” the hackers have also demanded the government to book the perpetrators under sedition laws.

The fringe group of Pooja Shakun Pandey is not associated with the original Hindu mahasabha.
On Wednesday, the nation observed the 71st death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind led the country in remembering the Father of the Nation.
