Several Hindu clerics of have come out to slam Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan for his statement in which he suggested that government should extract gold stored in Hindu temples as part of the fight against Coronavirus.

“Govt must immediately appropriate all the gold lying with all the Religious Trusts in the country, worth at least $1 trillion, according to the #WorldGoldCouncil. The gold can be borrowed through gold bonds at a low interest rate. This is an emergency,” he wrote on twitter.

Reacting to his statement, Swamy Paramhans Tapaswi Chhawni suggested that before extracting gold from Hindu temples, government should first take money from Congress party leaders.

He said, “Before taking gold from Hindu temples, money should be taken to combat Coronavirus from Congress leaders who have amassed huge wealth since independence.”

Mahant Kamal Nayan Das, Uttaradhikari, Mani Ram Das Chavni alleged that the Congress leaders are involved in anti-national activities. He also questioned former CM that why is he seeking to borrow money from Hindu sects only and not from Churches and Mosques.
