Sanjay Singhla, after being rescued by Indian Army during the on-going Chennai floods, has written a heart-touching letter in Hindi a translation of which is given below:
My elder brother was on a trip to Kerala, on Dec 1st they had a connecting flight from Chennai. But because of heavy rain they got caught up at the Chennai airport. Everything was in bad condition there.
Tea was costing around Rs 100 and ‘Chocopai’ was being sold to kids at Rs 450 which normally costs Rs 60. But fortunately Indian Army came to rescue there, and they rescued 100 people and dropped them at Delhi.
During the travel they served tea, vegetables and puri on the plane. There was a child among the people being rescued and seeing him in that condition an army officer brought milk from his home for him.
I have never seen God but now I believe he must look like our army men. I salute the army. It is very hard to imagine the courage of the mothers who send their sons in army and on such missions to save lives of others, a huge respect for all those mothers. I bow before the Indian Army.
