Javed Akhtar compares Madrasas with RSS run schools, gets schooled on Twitter

Javed Akhtar, lyricist and self proclaimed Atheist, has been often been alleged of being biased and Anti-Hindu on Twitter. A year back, to absolve Rohingya terrorists of the mass murder of 28 Hindus whose mass grave was found in the conflicted Rakhine state he had tweeted, “If there is a mass grave of Hindus it must be their Army ‘s doing . Or why hundreds of Hindus are also escaping along with Rohingyas.”

Many survivors identified the Rohingyas Muslims as attackers, despite which Javed Akhtar blamed the Myanmar Army of killing Hindus.

Recently, Javed Akhtar took to Twitter to suggest that the percentage of Muslim students in Madrasas is very but yet there is a perception created against Muslim population. He tweeted, “Do you know out of those Muslim children who are students what is the percentage that goes to Madrasas.- 4% !!! But look at the perception that has been created.”

A Twitter user had asked a very relevant question to which most would agree, “dear Javed, Why Madaeasa should be there? If they r then syllabus should be same as in other schools. A book of moral education may be extra”

But instead of blaming the education system of Madrasas, Javed Akhtar brought RSS run schools into picture. “I totally agree with you . It is strange thar we censor films but not the education . We let the madrasas and RSS run schools teach the children what ever they want and pollute the innocent minds for ever.” he tweeted.

Unfortunately Javed Akhtar is unaware about the schools run by the educational wing of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Vidya Bharati, in short for Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan. Vidya Bharati runs one of the largest private network of schools in India.

As of March 2002, they have 17,396 schools, 2.2 million students, over 93,000 teachers, 15 teacher training colleges, 12 degree colleges and 7 vocational and training institutions. Most of the Vidya Bharati schools are affiliated to the Central Board for Secondary Education or their local State Boards.

In the case of Madrasas, they have their own syllabus, which on most occasions does not include Mathematics, Computer science in their curriculum. In July 2015, the state government of Maharashtra created a stir de-recognised Madrasa education, receiving criticism from several political parties with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) accusing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of creating Hindu-Muslim friction in the state. Kamal Farooqui of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board saying it was “ill-designed”.

Probably this ‘Secular’ example of a RSS run school in Jharkhand, will change Javed Akhtar’s impression about them.

Javed Akhtar faced the wrath of several Indian Twitteratis and has been exposed completely.

Many on Twitter had wished that Javed Akhtar does a bit of research before making such fake tweets.
