As Bengaluru grapples with four-hour load-shedding everyday, the state government says it’s helpless in the face of the worst drought in 25 years.
Karnataka Energy Minister DK Shivakumar said, “We never expected this big drought… shortage is totally 3000 mega watt now with this great drought, we are not able to generate much on hydel. One to two months, we have to bear this,.. by December we will get purchased power.”
But these pictures portray something else. These are clicked near yelahanka mother dairy in Bengaluru.
Congress led Karnataka government seems to be wasting electricity on street lights lightened in the daytime. It shows the carelessness of the state government due to which millions of people in the state are suffering.
Moreover, Its known that Karnataka Govt does not have funds to buy extra electricity from National Grid and giving pity excuses. Road Tax and other variable tax along with cost of living is one of the highest in Karnataka and giving such substandard service to people is indeed shameful as part of Congress.
