When devotees reached the temple in the morning, they had sighted the slogans on wall. The temple administration secretary Mahesh Kumar and the head of the temple protection organisation, Rajappan Pillai informed the police about this vandalization by certain miscreants. It is also reported that flags of Sangh Parivar have been destroyed in the nearby areas.
The police have registered a case after temple authorities filed two separate complaints. The move seems was aimed at vitiating the communal atmosphere in those parts.
Locals have alleged that Islamist organisations are active in the areas, it could probably be the handiwork of Marxists who seek to fish in the troubled waters, as campaigning for Chengannur by-election is underway.
