Lt Gen Hooda joins Congress Party’s panel on national security

Lt Gen, Deependra Singh Hooda, who supervised the 2016 surgical strikes on the terror launchpads across LOC, in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, has joined Congress Party’s panel on national security.

Hooda, will lead the taskforce which will prepare the security front of Congress party’s vision for the country. Lt Gen Hooda will manage a team of retired police and Army officers to prepare comprehensive report on the national security challenges. He to complete his report on national security in the next one month.

Earlier, it was reported that former RBI governor, Raghuram Rajan was involved in developing the economic vision paper of the Congress Party.

Lieutenant General DS Hooda is the former General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army’s Northern Command. He was the Northern Army Commander during the Surgical Strike in 2016.

The development has come days after a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist rammed his explosive -laden SUV into a CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The terror attack killed 44 CRPF personnel and injured many others.
