Mamata Government wants Rajini to make Darjeeling popular among film fraternity

As per reports it appears that Mamata Banerjee Government wants Rajinikanth to promote Darjeeling and other hill areas of West Bengal. The South Megastar is currently shooting for one his upcoming multilingual movies at Darjeeling and Kurseong of West Bengal.

Rajini arrived at West Bengal on 6th June and has successfully managed to keep himself away from Media cameras since. Recently the Tourism Minister of West Bengal, Goutam Deb had a meeting with Rajinikanth.

Reportedly Rajinikanth has expressed his satisfaction with the shooting experience in West Bengal so far. While speaking to media, Goutam Deb said that Rajinikanth has expressed great enthusiasm about Darjeeling. As per reports the Tourism Minister asked Rajinikanth to share his experience in Darjeeling with other film industry co-workers in South and Bollywood.

Speaking about Darjeeling Rajinikanth said, “I am surprised there are so many beautiful locations here but they have not been explored. Through this movie, the whole country will know this place. I am really so happy to meet lovely and kind-hearted people.  I am going to remain here for 30 days for the movie shoot.”

The Kabali star shooting for the first time in Bengal, also reportedly said that he was glad to be in the land of Ramakrishna Paramhamsa, Vivekananda, Subash Chandra Bose and Rabindranath Tagore.

The West Bengal Government wants more movie shootings to take place on the hills. And they believe more people will come following the footsteps of Thalaiva. Meanwhile it must also be kept in mind that Rajinikanth is not only a Moviestar anymore, he’s now also a politician. Political pundits may wonder whether Mamata Banerjee wants to establish good relations with Rajinikanth at the very early stages of his political career.
