On Monday the world witnessed a tragedy as Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris, a heritage of the mankind literally burned down to ashes. The 850-year-old Notre Dame cathedral in Paris is one of the most iconic structures in the city, one of finest exhibits of Gothic architecture. The fire that ravaged through the structure has completely destroyed its spire, famous windows of stained glass and its roof.
Since the devastating fire, numerous people from all across the world have come forward to offer help for reconstruction of the Church. However there were shockingly a fare amount of people on social media who appeared to be celebrating this disaster. Further, most of such people sported a Muslim name on their social network accounts.
A social media user named Damien Rieu has shared a video in which several Muslim named users can be seen responding to a video of the Paris church with a “laughing” face emoji on Facebook.
Paul Joseph Watson, a popular YouTuber has also shared screenshots of Muslim people celebrating when the Church was burning. He also pointed out how portals like the Buzzfeed tried to suppress the shameless celebrations.
