Owaisi says there can be no compromise on Babri Masjid

The president of AIMIM, Asaduddin Owaisi said that there can be no compromise on Babri Mosque. He further called for social boycott of those who are speaking of giving up on Babri Mosque.

Speaking at a public meeting organized by All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) at the culmination of its three day plenary, Owaisi launched bitter attack on Maulana Salman Hussaini Nadvi. He alleged that Maulana Nadvi is working on the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to create a rift in AIMPLB.

Maulana Nadvi met With Sri Sri Ravishankar on Friday and proposed a formula that the land on which disputed structure stood till 6th December 1992, should be handed over to Hindus for Ram temple in exchange for a different land for Mosque. This statement created huge uproars from different parts of the country. After the news about the proposal spread across media, AIMPLB distanced itself from Maulana Nadvi and his proposal.

“Some people are dancing to the tune of Modi,” said the Hyderabad MP without naming Mr Nadvi. “He (Nadvi) is saying that his proposal is to ensure peace and unity in the country. Should we also give up Masjid-e-Aqsa (Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem) for unity in Arab,” Owaisi added.

He said the prime minister and those dancing to his tunes will not succeed in their attempts as the board is a symbol of Indian Muslims and united platform of all Islamic schools of thought.

He further claimed that in 2001, same Maulana Nadvi was one of the clerics to issue a fatwa saying a mosque remains a mosque till eternity and Babri masjid can’t be compromised. He also alleged that Maulana Nadvi had given a fatwa in support of ISIS.
