The new Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi formed his cabinet on Saturday. And in this new cabinet is a Hindu Minister after two decades. The new Minister is from Sindh, and was elected to the assembly by a ticket of PML-N, on a reserved seat for the Minorites.
This indeed is a very proud moment for the Hindus in Pakistan, as they don’t get a representative of the community very often, unlike the minorities of India.
The last Hindu representative in the National Assembly was Late Rana Chander Singh, the Jagirdar of Amarkot (umerkot). The 65 year, practicing doctor, Lal is indeed a light of hope to the oppressed Hindus of Pakistan.
