Rahul Gandhi slammed on Twitter after comparing Mohan to with Mahatma Gandhi

The Congress President Rahul Gandhi was slammed on micro-blogging site twitter after he compared RSS supremo Mohan Bhagwat with Mahatma Gandhi in a statement. During his speech at Meghalaya the 47 year old questioned equality of women in RSS and in attempts of showcasing differences in political cultures he compared current RSS chief with Mahatma Gandhi who according to him used to be surrounded with women.

Rahul Gandhi alleged that there are zero women in RSS and while comparing Bhagwat with Gandhi he said, “See pics of Mahatma Gandhi, there is woman on right, on left, behind. See Mohan Bhagwat pic, you will never see women standing in the pic.”

The Indian Twitterati is known for not sparing anyone be it film stars, cricketers or even politicians. People slammed the Congress President for his statement on Twitter.

The allegations of Rahul Gandhi against the RSS may not be completely correct as there is an entire women wing of the RSS know as Rashtriya Sevika Samiti. The organization is not a subsidiary of Male’s wing but is a parallel body which functions independently.

He claimed that they (Congress) are trying to bring reservation for women in parliament but BJP is not allowing this. He also said that one of the big changes needed in Congress party is significant increase in number of women leaders.

” We are pressurising the BJP to bring about reservation for women in parliament bill but they won’t do it. It doesn’t come naturally to them. One of the big changes needed in Congress party is significant increase in number of women leaders,” the Congress President was quoted saying.

The Congress President is currently on a visit to Meghalaya, where assembly elections will take place in February of this year.
