Ramayana, Mahabharata rerun will be helpful for those like Sonakshi Sinha: Mukesh Khanna

Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna has taken a dig at Actress Sonakshi Sinha. Talking about state broadcaster Doordarshan restarting several classic shows including Ramayana and Mahabharata, which are based on Hindu epics of the same names, Khanna said that “It will also help people like Sonakshi Sinha.” Recently, the actress had failed to answer a simple question regarding Ramayana in popular quiz game show Kaun Banega Crorepati, after which she found herself on receiving end of severe trolling on social media.

Sonakshi appeared on Amitabh Bachchan’s game show Kaun Banega Crorepati in September last year. She was asked, ‘according to Ramayana, Hanuman fetched the Sanjeevani booti (herb) for whom?” She got confused between four options – Sugriva, Lakshmana, Sita and Rama. The actor took a lifeline to answer the question.

Host Amitabh also schooled the actor and told her, “Your father and uncles names are derived from Ramayan, you live in a house called Ramayana. How do you not know for whom did Hanuman bring Jadibooti.”

Mukesh Khanna is well known for essaying the legendary character of Grandsire Bhishma in Mahabharata. Apart from it, Shaktimaan, a popular superhero show in which Khanna played the leading role has also started its re-run on Doordarshan.
