Rashid Alvi calls the victory of his own party in three state assemblies a “conspiracy” to make people believe the EVMs

In a rather shocking claim, Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi has said that his party’s victory in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh was nothing but a conspiracy to make people trust the EVMs.

While speaking to the reporters, Alvi claimed that if the exit poll results turn out to be true, they would prove that there was EVM manipulation during the Lok Sabha polls. Such a statement came despite the well established fact that EVMs play no role in exit poll predictions.

Alvi added that, he and his party also believes that the Congress’ election victory in the three North Indian states was a conspiracy to make people believe in EVMs and the Election Commission. He also accused the exit poll agencies of being biased.

It is safe to say that the exit poll results, all of whom unanimously suggest a BJP led NDA victory, has rattled the opposition and they are already in a defensive mode. The meeting of 21 opposition parties will be held at the Constitution Club in New Delhi at 1.30 pm on Tuesday to discuss the possibilities of a non-NDA alliance.

Former PM HD Deve Gowda left for Tamil Nadu Monday morning where he is expected to meet the regional leaders. Naidu also met West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata to discuss post-poll possibilities on Monday. Naidu will head back to Delhi to meet other alliance leaders.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati, who contested together, met in Lucknow. Reportedly, both leaders discussed the post-poll result scenario.
