Sadhvi Pragya Thakur formally joins BJP, likely to contest against Digvijay Singh in Bhopal

According to ANI reports, Sadhvi Pragya has formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today in the presence of senior party leaders Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Ramlal, and Prabhat Jha in Bhopal.

Sources suggest that Sadhvi Pragya is likely  to be contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections against Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh from Bhopal.

Speaking to a media channel, Sadhvi Pragya said that “it was not my desire but the demand of the people that the one who was tormented by the leader through “Hindu terror” comments and remarks should be the one who beats Digvijaya Singh in the upcoming elections.”

Sadhvi Pragya had also attacked Singh over his frequent visit to temple these days, saying that he is a fraud and people know his real face. When asked that if the BJP decides to give her ticket from Bhopal then she may face opposition from local leaders, who see her as an ‘outsider’, Sadhvi Pragya said that she is not an ‘outsider’ as she has been living in Bhopal since she was 16-year-old.

Pragya was arrested in connection 2008 western India bombings in Malegaon, but was later acquitted of all charges by the Special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court.
