West Bengal: Seven year old student brutally beaten up by teacher for raising “Jai Shri Ram” slogan

In what could only be described as an outrageous incident, a student of a school in West Bengal’s Howrah district was allegedly beaten up by teacher for saying “Jai Shri Ram.”

According to the reports, the student who is just seven years old, raised “Jai Shri Ram” slogans when other students also raised it. The student who was thrashed has been identified as Aaryan Singh and his father has alleged that the teacher of Sri Ramkrishna Sikshalaya in Howrah beat up his child on Wednesday. He added that the student is traumatised in the aftermath of the incident.

Speaking to media over the incident, the father of victim has alleged that his 7-year-old son was hit by the school teacher for raising ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans in the school. He alleged that the incident has made the child extremely nervous, adding that his school teacher asked him not to raise the slogan in school or outside.

“The Sir hit our child and asked him not to say ‘Jai Shri Ram’ whether in school or outside. He’s almost 7 years old and I’ve never seen him this nervous. He’s a courageous kid and I’ve always encouraged him. He asked me whether he should take the lord’s name or not. He does not want to go to school out of fear. We’ve scolded him so many times but have never seen such behaviour,” the father of the victim said.
