Sunanda Pushkar, wife of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, was found dead under highly mysterious circumstances on January 17, 2014, a day after she had an ugly spat on Twitter with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar.
Times Now has accessed a draft which has been sent for vetting by the Delhi police which says that Shashi Tharoor needs to be charged in the death of Sunanda Pushkar. The charges on Shashi Tharoor include abetment of suicide and destruction of evidence.
Sunanda Pushkar was last seen alive around 3.30pm at Hotel Leela while Tharoor was away attending the AICC session. Her body was discovered by Tharoor and his two aides between 8.45 and 9pm.
Investigators had pointed out at that time that Pushkar’s body had 12 injury marks including a bite mark on her hand. However, the injuries were not life-threatening but raised questions as to whether she was physically assaulted before her death. Soon after Pushkar’s death, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had alleged that she did not commit suicide, but that it was a case of murder.
