  • Maharashtra : Boost for ‘Make in India’: Foxconn to invest $5 billion in Maharashtra

Taiwanese electronics contract manufacture Foxconn Technology is expected to start manufacturing operations in Maharashtra by 2018, top state government officials said.

On Saturday, the company that makes iPhones for Apple and gadgets for many other companies signed a $5-billion deal with the Maharashtra government to set up manufacturing operations in the state

  • Telangana : Chinese Mobile Maker Xiaomi Gets Set to Drive Into AP for Make in India Push

Andhra Pradesh is expected to make strides globally through its ‘Make in India – Made in AP’ programme by manufacturing smartphones in the State.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will launch the first Xiaomi-manufactured phone in India in Visakhapatnam on Monday. The programme will also see Xiaomi making some key announcements about its India expansion plans.

  • Haryana : Suresh Prabhu announces Rs 8.50 lakh cr investment in Haryana
Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today announced an investment of Rs 8.50 lakh crore in Haryana in the next five years to strengthen rail network in the state.
Prabhu, who is a Rajya Sabha MP from Haryana, also assured that a rail coach factory would be set up in the state.
  • Kerala : Kerala declared ‘complete digital state’
Declaration of Kerala as a ‘complete digital state’ and announcement of a new youth programme in memory of former President, the late APJ Abdul Kalam marked Independence Day celebrations in the state.With the state making remarkable strides in implementation of various e-governance initiatives, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy declared Kerala as the ‘complete digital state’.
  • Odisha : Odisha govt approves scheme for providing 24×7 power supply
In an effort to provide 24×7 quality power supply to the people in and around the state capital of Bhubaneswar, the Odisha government has approved a Rs 1,500-crore State Capital Region Improvement of Power System (SCRIPS) scheme to be implemented in five years.A proposal in this regard got state Cabinet’s nod yesterday. The Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has decided to spend the money over a five years timeframe from 2015-16 to 2019-20, saidsecretary G C Pati.

  • Madhya Pradesh : MP government sanctions Rs 2,728 crore to improve higher education

The Madhya Pradesh government sanctioned $430 million (Rs 2,728 crore) under a World Bank Project aimed at improving higher education sector in the state, officials in Bhopal informed yesterday.

An MP state public relations official said that, “The World Bank’s share will be 300 million US dollars and the MP state’s share is 130 million dollars,” adding that it was approved in a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The cabinet also gave a nod to Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam in Indore to develop Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) on 254 acre land available for Diamond Park Project under PPP mode, he said.

  • Delhi : All India Institute of Ayurveda being set up in Delhi
The Minster of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry AYUSH, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik has said that the Government is taking the AYUSH system of medicines to the grass root through the network of Primary Health Centers (PHCs) under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM). The Minister was interacting with journalists at the Women’s Press Club in New Delhi today. Shri Shripad Yesso Naik said that it is the mission of the Government that there should be an AYUSH Hospital in every district. Steps have been taken by the Ministry in this direction and proposals are being received from the states, the Minister added. Shri Yesso Naik disclosed that the AYUSH Ministry is setting up an All India Institute of Ayurveda in Delhi , which is conceived as an Apex Institute of Ayurveda along the lines of AIIMS. It is expected to start working by 2016 and it is the vision of the Government to have such hospitals in every state, he added.
