Tamil Nadu Secretariat Raided, Mamta Banerjee Fumes Vindictive Politics

In what seem to be a shocking move, Income Tax officials have raided Tamil Nadu Secretariat right after raiding the residence of Chief Secretary Rammohan Rao’s residence in Anna Nagar. The raid at Rammohan Rao’s residence began at 5:30 AM in the morning and right now officials have swooped in to conduct more raids at his office at Tamil Nadu Secretariat.

A 1985 batch officer, Rao was additional Chief Secretary/Secretary-I to the Chief Minister before he was named Chief Secretary. The 58-year-old also holds full additional charge of Vigilance Commissioner and Commissioner for Administrative reforms.

This surprise move by the Modi Government has sent shock waves across Twitterati. This is probably the first time in the History of India, a State’s Secretariat has been raided.

People have been congratulating PM Modi for this daring step and have infact urged him to fight on more to reduce corruption in the Nation.

Surprisingly West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday criticised the I-T raid at the residence of Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary P Rama Mohana Rao, saying such a “vindictive and unethical” act by the central agencies devalues the institution of head of the civil service.

Political Analyst/TV Personality M R Venkatest, in a series of tweet has accused Mamata Banerjee of cooking up something fishy.

Is there really a connection between Tamil Nadu raids and Saradha Scam? Will it be Politicos who face the brunt next? Only time will tell us…
