Tamil Nadu tourist killed by Kashmiri separatist stone pelters

In a heartbreaking incident on Monday, a tourist from Chennai was killed by the Kashmiri separatist stone-pelters in Budgam, Jammu & Kashmir. The deceased was identified as Thirumani, 21 years old. He was travelling with 47 other people in four tempo travellers to Ski resort of Gulmarg, where the vehicles were hit by stones.

He succumbed to injury during this rumpus incident and then was taken to Sheri Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment. His injury was very serious and he passed away eventually after struggling for life.

Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti says “My head hangs in shame, It is very sad and heart-breaking”. The cases were registered on the culprit under the sections  148, 247, 307, 336 RPC in Police Station Magam. A Police officer from the station said “Investigations into it has been initiated and culprits involved into the incident will be nabbed soon”.

In past one week, 24 people lost their lives by stone pelting in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. A clash took place between the security forces and the separatist militants on Sunday, where five militants were killed in the gun fight. One of the militant is observed to be an assistant professor in the Kashmir University.

Seven other tourists who were injured in their head during the incident along with the deceased person were taken to the hospital. Two of the seven were treated with stitches in their head and the others were discharged after examination.
