Taming the Dragon: Concocted Economic Attack on China

Since the pandemic hit the world earlier this year one thought has triggered most minds. Can we use this opportunity to turn around most economies and be self resilient? The entire world is so much dependant on China for almost everything we use in our daily lives. From Kitchen Appliances to gardening material to fruits vegetables, toys and cars. You name it and they make it for less cost that available locally.

There are some conspiracy theories doing rounds that China has a major role in this pandemic that has left the world in a miserable place. During the lockdown Indian Prime Minister announced that this is the opportunity India should look at and make itself self- reliant as much as possible. The word he used was ”Atmanirbhar”. Recently there was a major stand off between India and China at Galwan Valley where 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives. This further trigger the thought of being self-reliant.

Corona Virus, The Galwan Valley incidence made it evident that India needs to take some harsh decisions for it’s better future. It also needs to send a strong message to China that they cannot take India for granted anymore. Accordingly the Indian Govt decided to ban as many as 57 Chinese applications including TikTok. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh wasted no time in take forward the message of PM Modiji.

India spends around Rs 10 to 12 thousand crores on toys each year approximately. Of this 90 % toys are made in China. Prior to this may be we never thought if the toy was made in India or China but now the need has risen and CM Yogiji has taken steps to set this right. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Authorities will now set up a Toy city in Greater Noida sector 33 spread over 100 acres. With this decision not only employment will be generated but moreover it will systematically reduce the Chinese influence from Indian markets. Uttar Pradesh will have India’s first international Toy Park which will compete with the Chinese toy market in India.

Out of the 100 acres of land 50 acres will be used to build private toy shops and rest 50 will be allotted to the Toy Association. Upon the approval of the plan a PAN India scheme will be launched so the investors can invest in the toy park in Uttar Pradesh. Around 70 toymakers have shown interest and started planning. This project will see an investment of 1000 crores.

With this project, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogiji has taken forward the 2 important takeaways from the pandemic one to be self-reliant and to be vocal for local. This is a holistic approach to hurt China economically and politically. This is the new India and it’s only the beginning of end of dependency on China and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogiji taking the Atmanirbhar Bharat Yojana forward. More such projects will take off in due course all over India with the vision of PM Modiji.
