We all having been hearing about the golbal warming. But what is global warming?

Global warming is the term used to describe a gradual increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere and its oceans, a change that is believed to be permanently changing the Earth’s climate.

Now the question arises what gave raise to the temperature ? It’s a combination of various factors such the increase in industrialisation, automation of transport and a major factor is reduction of green cover in order to accommodate the human population.

We all know trees help in cleaning the atmosphere by cleaning atmosphere of various toxic gases like carbon di-oxide, nitrogen oxides, ammonia, sulfur dioxide and ozone apart from preventing soil erosion and many other such benefits.

Our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi started tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling at his official residence, 7 RCR on June 5, to mark the World Environment Day.

Keeping their promise to safe the nature of mother Earth, Government has planned to plant 200 crore trees along the entire 1 lakh km National Highways network across the country.

Keeping up with the GOI’S plan Haryana has started their contribution towards making Haryana Green by committing to increase the 3.9% forest area to 6% by year end and slowly increasing it to 20%.

First step towards it was taken on July 25, 2015 when 20 thousand people planted 2 lacs 5 thousand plants in just 3 hrs thus registering state Haryana name in Limca Book of Records.

It’s time all the states follow such steps and an inter-state competition is kept to increase the green cover by giving a certain targets to be achieved every year. Citizens of victorious state should be awarded with gift such as 2 months tax rebate or 2 mths 24hrs electricity or any other such thing as any reward given for creating a greener environment towards safing the Earth’s environment is small.
