The Congress party had been making personal attacks on the Prime Minister, accusing him of favouring some businessmen, throughout their campaign for the 2019 elections. But now since past few days, it seems like the Prime Minister has decided to play the game Congress’ way. He is also now making personal attacks on Congress President Rahul Gandhi and his father, former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday once again launched scathing attack on the Congress party. He said former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and family were sent for a vacation on the Navy’s aircraft carrier INS Virat, contending that it had compromised national security.
The ship, PM Modi said, was positioned for protection of maritime boundaries, when it was sent to transport Rajiv Gandhi and his family to an island for their holiday. Even his in-laws were onboard INS Virat.
“Even Navy personnel were put on service of Rajiv Gandhi and his family while they were vacationing at the island. INS Virat was also stationed at the island for 10 days during that time,” said the Prime Minister, who has accused the Congress and other opposition parties of neglecting national security.
Twitterati also reacted in favour of the Prime Minister over the entire situation, and trolled the Gandhis for using Navy’s property as a personal vehicle.

26th Dec 1988 and the Prime Minister and Congress President Rajiv Gandhi planned a ten-day holiday at Bangaram Island.
The Lakshwadeep Archipelago consists of 30 islands of which Bangaram is one, an uninhabited island, covering a mere half a sqkm.

It’s about time 1.3 billion #Indians know that former #PrimeMinister #RajivGandhi and family vacationed on #INS Virat. Important that #Prime #Minister #Narendra #Modi raised it today in his address. #LokSabhaElections2019

Not an accusation. There was media coverage of Rajiv Gandhi's 'Blue Lagoon' holiday. INS Virat was indeed used, as were naval helicopters. India Today carried a lavishly illustrated story. https://t.co/lkt8lMsVYK https://t.co/OrXslZLYUm

Till now we were criticising Mayawati for sending an empty private jet to get a pair of Sandals from Mumbai
But big thing is INS Virat was once moved to Arabian Sea for 10 days to transport Gandhis during their holiday. A submarine & satellite link was also set for their holiday

The fact that a mammoth of a machine like INS Virat which is a property of the Navy was used for private holidays during the tenure of Rajiv Gandhi was largely unknown to the new generation voters. But now by digging out the old reports, Prime Minister has surely put Congress party in an uncomfortable place. It remains to be seen as whether the attacks on each other become even more personal after this.
