Two TMC leaders arrested over murder of Dalit BJP worker in West Bengal

Two TMC leaders in West Bengal have been arrested over allegations of involvement in the murder of a Dalit BJP leader.

The 45 year old deceased, Shaktipada Sardar was a secretary of BJP Mandal committee of Mandira Bazar-Dhanurhat area in Diamond Harbour district. BJP has accused that TMC sponsored goons are responsible for the murder.

On Friday night, Shaktipada was returning home from party office, when some miscreants attacked him on the way, using sharp weapons. The attack was so brutal that it became almost impossible to recognize the victim by his face.

Later some locals spotted Shaktipada lying on the street, and rushed him to hospital. As his condition deteriorated, the hospital referred him to a hospital in Kolkata. However, Sardar died while being taken to the hospital in Kolkata, they said.

BJP sources have claimed that Shaktipada had played a vital role in party’s good performance in his area, in recently concluded panchayat polls.

Lashing out at the silence of ‘Lynchingstan brigade’, BJP’s West Bengal unit Vice-President, Chandra Kumar Bose wrote on Twitter, “Why is the #LynchistanBrigade silent on the issue of #BengalBarbarism? Do these designer intellectuals miss on the deaths of BJP workers or it is a case of selective amnesia?.”

In another tweet Bose said, “Such is the hate for BJP and any movement that demands equal rights&respect for citizens of Bengal that no self-proclaimed #LiberalSecularIntellectual has raised issue that @MamataOfficial runs fascist, totalitarian regime. In the case of Bengal, our elites are in deep slumber.”

Meanwhile TMC has rubbished all the allegations against them.
